Boniface Mgonja is a senior operations, governance, and finance leader with deep experience serving both denominational and nonprofit organizations. He brings a rare blend of executive administration, financial oversight, and governance expertise, with a track record of building reliable systems that support ministry effectiveness at scale. His work is marked by operational clarity, institutional strength, and the ability to translate mission into well-managed structures, policies, and teams.
Boniface currently serves as Executive Director of Finance and Administration for the Alberta and Northwest Territories District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC). In this role he provides oversight for district operations and finances, supports churches and ministries with governance counsel, and provides direction across administration, HR, policies, property matters, and Canada Revenue Agency-related inquiries. He is a hands-on leader who strengthens internal systems in finance, budgeting, planning, and organizational administration so the district can execute its mission with stability and integrity.
Before relocating to Canada, Boniface served in significant national leadership roles within the Tanzania Assemblies of God, including General Secretary, where he functioned as the chief executive officer of the denominational head office and chief advisor to the Archbishop and executive leadership in administrative and operational matters. He also served as Head of Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, reinforcing his strength in data-informed oversight. Alongside his denominational service, he has invested heavily in leader development as an Adjunct Lecturer at ESAMI Business School, supervising graduate research and serving as an examiner for hundreds of MBA students. Boniface now serves Church Vitalization Canada as financial administrator, ensuring strong financial stewardship and administrative excellence that supports the work of coaching and revitalization across Canada.
